Taylor is by far my favorite Physiotherapist in Asheville. I have had hip pain for the last 2 years and Taylor uses many different methods to get to the root of the problem, while providing follow-up exercises to keep on top of it. I could not recommend Taylor more! Thank you!

A Personal Message From Pelvic Health Specialist Taylor McNair...

Hi, I'm Taylor McNair of West Physiotherapy.
Are you suffering from urinary or bowel problems? Is it keeping you from feeling confident when want to go hiking, squatting, lifting heavy weights, or running?
Do you have pain in your pelvic region or hips? Does it interfere with intimacy with your partner, the ability engage in the activities you most enjoy.
When I first became a PT nearly 20 years ago, I never thought I would be helping women stop leaking poo while out on a hike! But that's just what I've done for lots of ladies!
As I continued on my orthopedic and manual therapy journey, I began noticing there were some complex hip and low back patients that I was struggling to get completely better. I started wondering if the muscles of their pelvic floor were not being fully addressed with their orthopedic therapy.
So I began down a road of continuing to educate myself on this specialized area of the body and sure enough, I was right!
It's all connected. And that's one of the reason's I'm able to help so many women with these types of issues. I understand both the specialized pelvic floor area and all the other connected elements of the body. Let me tell you-it's more than just Kegels!!
I know how frustrating it can be to not enjoy your outdoor (and indoor!) activities or to be held back from participating fully in your life and adventures.
I know the stories you've been telling yourself too. Well, this is probably just normal with age, or after having kids, or it's too embarrassing to talk about and probably no one can really help me anyway!
Maybe you're thinking this is just part of getting a little older, nothing to be done, the new normal. You'll just have to hang it up or modify your lifestyle to keep from feeling worse and worse. I can just start wearing a pantyliner, or a small pad, or make sure there's always a bathroom nearby. My partner won't mind if rarely have sex anymore. It's okay if I don't really get anything out of it.
Does any of this sound like you?
At West Physiotherapy we treat people just like you all the time. There is hope! What most patients want to know is...

Often times, fear and embarrassment keep people from seeking help for any of the above problems. But they are commonly experienced and can be greatly improved if not resolved with appropriate treatment.
At West Physiotherapy, we consider the pelvic floor or issues with bowel, bladder, or sex as a part of your whole musculoskeletal and neuromuscular system. We identify primary areas of root causes of your dysfunction, then develop a plan to get those areas working better to resolve the problem.
And we often have a lot of fun in the process!
